On [[:en:February 12|February 12]], [[2007]], 16:12, the [[Èdèe Yorùbá|Yoruba]] [[Wikipéédíà|Wikipedia]] has welcomed its one thousandth article with the article [[Luba II]] about the [[:en:Tshiluba language|Tshiluba language]]. The text was written by [[User:Loadewole|Loadewole]], who wrote most of the other articles as well. The first 500 articles were being written from [[en:October 23|October 23]], [[2002]] till [[en:December 29|December 29]], [[2006]], the second 500 from December 29, 2006 till February 12, 2007, or a good four years opposite less than two months. This edition’s growth seems to be unstoppable, but qualitatively, graphicalgraphically and structurally, there still has to be worked quite a bit on the majority of the articles.

With 1,043 articles, the [[:en:Yoruba Wikipedia|Yoruba Wikipedia]] is the [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias#1_000.2B_articles 127^th]; and in the ranking, this edition is between the [[:en:Samogitian language|Samogitian]] (1,078) and the [[:en:Zazaki|Zazaki]] (1,042) encyclopaedias. Within the [[:en:Niger-Congo languages|Niger-Congo language family]], only the [[:en:Swahili language|Swahili]] Wikipedia is bigger.
