1. Bargain: v. ‘ná’ He bargained for the good; Ó ná ọjà náà.

2. Bark: v. ‘gbó’ The dog barked; Ajá náà gbó.

3. Beam: v. ‘ràn’ The sun beamed through the cloud; Oòrùn ràn gba inú kùrukùru kọjá.

4. Bear: v.(i) ‘gbé’ That small horse cannot bear your weight; Ẹṣin kékeré yẹn kò lè gbé ọ; (nítorí pé o ti tóbi jù) (ii) ‘bí The woman has borne ten children; Obìnrin náà ti bí ọmọ mẹ́wàá.

5. Beat: v. (i) ‘pa’ The rain was beating him; Òjò ń pa á (ii) ‘gbòn’ He beats a red-hot cutlass with a hammer so as to reshape it; Ó gbọn àdá.(iii) ‘bọ́’ He beats the earth-floor; Ó bọ́lẹ̀. (iv) ‘lù’ His heart is beating; Ọkàn rẹ̀ ń lù. (v) ‘pò’ She beats eggs in milk; Ó po eyin nínú mílíìkì (vi) ‘nà’ We beat them in football; A nà wọ́n nínú eré bọ́ọ̀lù.

6. Backon: v. ‘jù’ He beckoned his hand to me; Ó ju ọwọ́ sí mi.

7. Become: v. (i) ‘mọ́’ To work hard does not mean that the worker will be rich; Gìdìgìdì kò mọ́là. (ii) ‘dì’ It becomes dry; Ó di gbígbẹ. (iv) ‘dà’ What has he become?; Kí ló dà?.

8. Befall: v. ‘bá’ Misfortune befell them; Ibi bá wọn

9. Befit: v. ‘yẹ’ It befits him; Ó yẹ ẹ́.
