Atúmọ̀-Èdè (Yorùbá-Gẹ̀ẹ́sì): D1

1. Dán: v. to be smooth: Ó dán; It is smooth (ii) glitter: Òrùka náà ń dán ní ìka ọwọ́ rẹ̀; The ring glittered on her finger (iii) sparkle: Dáyámọ́ǹdì náà ń dán bí iná tí ó mọ́lẹ̀ náà ṣe tàn sí i; The diamond sparkled in the bright light.

2. Dẹ: v.to hunt: Ó dẹ ìgbẹ́; He hunted for animals in the bush (ii) to incite: Mo dẹ wọ́n sí i; I incited them against him.

3. Dí: v. (i) to block: Ó dí ihò; He blocked the hole (ii) stuff up: Imú mi dí; My nose is stuffed up (iii) bar: Wọ́n dí ònà tí ó lọ sí ilé-ìwé náà; They barred the way to the school.

4. Di: v. for: Ó múra sílẹ̀ di ọjọ́ náà; He made himself ready for the day (ii) to be deaf: Etí rẹ̀ di; He is deaf (iii) run: Omi náà ti di gbígbẹ; The river has run dry (iv) bandage: Dótítà di ọwọ́ tí Olú fi pa; The doctor bandaged Olú’s cut hand.

6. Dó: v. (i) to settle: Ó dó sí Ìbàdàn; He settled at Ìbàdàn (ii) a vulgar language for to have sexual intercourse with: Ó dó o; He had sexual intercourse with her.

7. Dú: v. to slaughter: Ó dú u; He slaughtered it (ii) to darken/to blacken: Ó rẹ ẹ́ dú; he dyed it to a dark colour.

8. Du: v. to run: Ó du lọ; He rushed away.
