(primary idea, “to make to feel, suffers, etc.”, extensively used in composition), to kill, to murder, to put out of existence, to ruin, to stay, to betray to quench fire, to extinguish, to bruise, to rub, to scrub, to cut yam or calabash into halves, to break any hard nut, to peel the bark of a tree, to win a game, to hatch, (eggs), to tell fables, to be intoxicated (as with liquor).
páá, adv. at once, in an instance. Ó lọ síbẹ̀ páá. (He went there at once.)
pá adj. bald, hairless (as in the head). Bàbá náà pá lórí. (The man is bald.)
pá v.t. to avoid giving occasion for quarrel, to avoid strife. Ó pá èṣù (páàṣù/péèṣù) mọ́ nílẹ̀ (He avoided strife.)
padà, v.i. to return, to come back. Yóò padà dé ilẹ́ láìpẹ́. (He will return home soon.

páfe, pátápátá, adv. altogether, absolutely, entirely, completely. Ó tán páfe. (It is completely finished.)
páfin, v.i. to be careful not to infringe the law (generally used with a negative).
pàfọ̀, v.i. to wallow in the mire. Ẹlẹ́dẹ̀ náà ń pàfọ̀. (The pig is wallowing in the mire.)
pagi, v.t to lop off the branches and leaves of trees (as by the ‘Orò’) eaten the leaves of a tree. Orò pagi orò has eaten the leaves of the tree.
pagidarì, interj. an exclamation of surprise, fancy! Pagidarì! Kò tíì wọ ọkọ̀ òfurufú rí. Fancy! She has never been in a plane before.
pa gììrì, Ta gììrì, v.i. to arouse oneself suddenly, to shudder. Ó pa gììrì nígbà tí ó rí ẹ̀jẹ̀. He shuddered at the sight of blood.
pàgọ́, v.i to make or fix a tent. ó pagọ́. He pitched a tent.
págunpàgun, adj. clumsy, uneven, reagged. ọ̀nà náà ṣe págunpàgun. The road is uneven.
pàgbẹ́, ṣángẹ̀ẹ́ v.t. to clean a new forest for the purpose of cultivating it for planting yams, corn, etc., to clear the forest. Ó ti pàgbẹ́. He has cleared the forest.
pagbo, v.i to make or form a ring or circle, to arrange in a circle. Wọ́n pagbo They arranged themselves in a circle.
pahín payín, v.i to chip off two of the upper front teeth (for fashion), to file teeth. Ó pahín. He filed his teeth.
pahím keke, Payín keke, v.t. to gnash the teeth. Yóò máà pahín keke nígbà tí ó bá gbọ́ pé iṣẹ náà kò bó sí i mọ́. (He will be gnashing his teeth when he hears that he lost the contact.
